Sorry for any inconvenience.
To those who have ever experienced the heartbreak of the loss of a pet; I hope my story will bring comfort and peace knowing that there really is a place, called the "Rainbow Bridge". At that time, I was unable to reveal my experience to anyone, other than my closest friends. Now I have been inspired to share my story.

The following is a true story. The events I am about to reveal actually took place on August 17, 1999.

I was having a very difficult time dealing with the loss of our 15-year old pet. Still in shock and overwhelmed by the events that had taken place the previous day. I decided to go out into my backyard, where I usually go to find peace and quiet. As I sat down and placed the book I was about to read on the table. I remember feeling very relaxed and immediately found myself in a tunnel filled with very bright light. It was so bright; I had difficulty keeping my eyes open. As I was drawn further into the light, I noticed a figure coming toward me. At first I couldn't recognize who this figure was, than suddenly the figure was in front of me and it was my Rambo.  He was looking up at me, with his big bright eyes, and I said "Rambo your OK". I was so filled with emotion, I gave him a big hug and he turned and started running through the tunnel and I was right behind him.

Suddenly, we reached the end of the tunnel and I stepped out into this huge emerald green meadow with such magnificent beauty, that there are no words to describe what I saw. I had just entered into the biggest, brightest, most colorful and peaceful place I have ever seen. Its size was enormous and you could see forever and ever and I thought to myself, "where am I". As I looked around in awe, I glanced to my right and I noticed in the far distance a beautiful white bridge with a large rainbow on each side, forming its railings. I thought for a moment and somehow knew that was the Rainbow Bridge. There was also a bright glow coming from that direction. Suddenly, Rambo started running through the meadow toward the Bridge and again I followed him. When we arrived at the bridge; its enormous size and beauty captivated me. Rambo sat down and I looked at him and asked, "are we going over"? All of a sudden, out of nowhere an enormous voice said " no Claire, you have to go back! You were allowed to visit here so you could find peace in knowing that Rambo and all your other pets are doing fine. You still have much work left to be done and it will be many years before you return".  I looked around to see where the voice was coming from, but could see nothing. Yet, I knew that God had just spoken to me! Suddenly, it was very quiet again. I looked down at Rambo and he was starring across the bridge. When I looked to see what he was starring at, to my amazement there sat every pet that had ever been a part of my life.

They were sitting looking over at me and I somehow knew they were all very happy. I stood there for a moment knowing I could not cross over to touch or pet them, but just seeing them all together gave me a tremendous feeling of peace. At that moment, Rambo got up and started running back in the direction of the tunnel. I knew it was time for me to go. I gave one last glance across the bridge, threw a kiss in their direction and off I went chasing Rambo. We approached the tunnel and I said my farewells. With tears in my eyes, I bent down and kissed Rambo on the head and thanked him for helping me to see what I already knew deep in my heart. I reluctantly entered the tunnel, only this time there was no bright light and before I realized it, I was sitting back in my chair looking around the yard again.  I was totally aware of the events that had just taken place and contemplated the experience for hours. I kept thinking how lucky I was to have been given the opportunity of visiting such a special place. I also knew that one day I would deliver this message to those who needed it most and they too would be comforted, by the fact, that the Rainbow Bridge really exists. I still miss my little buddy and I thank God every night for the blessing that was bestowed on me.

I knew my life would never be the same after the events that took place that day. In such a brief period of time, life as I perceived it, and my reason for being, have been changed forever.  I made a promise that day to God and Rambo. Now that I have completed Part 1, there is still much work left to be done. Part 2 still remains a mystery, but I know when the time is right, the opportunity will present itself and I know I will be ready.

In case you're wondering, Conversations With God, Book 2 was the book I had taken outside with me to read that day.

If you have your own story, or one you would like to share.
I would love to make it available for everyone to read.
